Mr. Thompson passed away Tuesday at Baptist Medical Center-Princeton in Birmingham. He was born in Cullman, December 20, 1939 to George and Inez Duke Thompson. He was a salesman. Although plagued with challenging illnesses from an early age, David had an amazing enthusiasm for life. Anyone that David was aware of his great love for Bear Bryant and Alabama football always marveling at his ability to answer any questions about past seasons and statistics. He also loved local sports befriending many coaches and players. He was a member of Church of Christ and a Bible scholar.
Survivors include cousins; Mary Guthery and Charlie Thompson, Linda Carman and Janey Gleaves along with numerous other cousins and family members.
