Doyle C. Smith

Mr. Doyle C. Smith of Danville, Alabama passed away on May 7, 2012 at his residence at the age of 88. Mr. Smith was born on May 21, 1923 in Cullman Alabama to Dilmus L. and Emily Talley Smith. He worked as a truck driver at Cullman Lingerie and he served in The United States Navy aboard The USS Gainard DD706 during World War II as a Communication Officer in the Pacific Theatre. He was also a member at Roundtop Church in Morgan County. He is preceded in death by his parents, 1 Daughter: Ellen Myers, 1 Son: Keith Smith and the mother of Ellen and Keith: Rachael Smith.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at 3:00 P.M. at Ebenezer Cemetery with Bro. Pearl Jenkins officiating. Interment will be in Ebenezer Cemetery.

Survivors are: Wife: Dorothy Shoemaker Smith of Danville, Al., 3 Daughters: Jackie (Richard) Simmons of Falkville, Al., JoNell (David) Streling of Hartselle, Al., Mary (Ron) Stephenson of Birmingham, Al., Grandson: Nathan Smith of Athens, Al., 2 Nieces and 3 Nephews, 5 Grandchildren, 4 Great Grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at Moss Funeral Home from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 P.M.
