Mrs. Edith Warnke Messersmith

Funeral services for Mrs. Edith Warnke Messersmith, age 91 of Hanceville, will be held on Monday, February 22, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Interment will follow at Cullman City Cemetery, with Pastor Warren Ruland officiating. She will lie-in-state at the church for one hour prior to the service.

Mrs. Messersmith passed away at Hanceville Nursing Home on Friday, February 19, 2010. She was born on January 7, 1919 in Cullman to Herman Warnke and Frieda Meier Warnke. Edith was a lifelong member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. She is preceded in death by her husband, Henry Herman Messersmith, Sr. and one sister, Mary Graveman.

Survivors include two Daughters, Esther (Joe) Hellmich and Carol (Jerry) Alldredge; one Son, Henry (Joan) Messersmith, Jr.; four Grandchildren, Austin Alldredge, Paul (Sherri) Messersmith, Jenny (Mark) Wachter and Adrienne (Fiancé – Beau Williams) Alldredge; three Great-Grandchildren, Trent Edward Messersmith, Ella Claire Wachter and Sydney Marie Messersmith.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, February 21, 2010 from 6:30 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
