Mrs. Elsie Alene Arnold Florence

Funeral Services for Mrs. Elsie Alene Florence, age 87 of Cullman, will be Thursday, March 29, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, with Rev. Patrick Egan, O.S.B. officiating.

Mrs. Florence passed away Monday, March 26, 2012 at her residence. She was born on September 23, 1924 to the late Everette and Robbie Harris Arnold in Monroe County, Mississippi. Elsie was a beloved mother and grandmother; and a servant to all. She had been a homemaker, raising her sons, and then went on to be a nurse’s aide, for fifteen years working at Hanceville Nursing Home. The family would like to thank Omega Hospice (Ted & Denise) for their excellent care.

Elsie is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Gilbert David Florence and several siblings.

Survivors include her two 2 – Sons – Mark (Joan) Florence of Cullman, and Michael (Rebecca) Florence of Tuscaloosa; two 2 – Grandchildren – Neeley Florence of Dallas, TX and Zachary Florence of Atlanta, GA; one Sister – Mommie Rollo of Bremen; and several Nieces & Nephews also survive.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home for visitation on Wednesday, March 28, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary Service at 7:30 p.m.

The family request In Lieu-of-Flowers, donation be made in Elsie’s name to the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Window Fund.
