My first memory of my favourite uncle, George Rowe, was when I spent my first ever night away from home with George and Joyce in their home in Huntsville, around 1951 (?). I spent part of the evening chasing my Aunt Joyce and Uncle George round and round the house with a broom, crying that they needed to take me back home (to Cullman). Having no success in this, I finally charged out the front door to walk home myself, aged 3, but on the front porch I encountered the spread of lights of Huntsville. Sometime after that I was persuaded to stay on in Huntsville for the night!

Many great memories made with Uncle George over the years. He was the patriarch of our Cullman branch of the N. Ala. Rowe lineage dating back 200 yrs. and always there to help us, & entertain us.

He & I were both named after George Sr., I was proud to have heard.

May God Bless his spirit and your family now during this time of change. Thanks for sharing him with us over the decades, and all these wonderful photos you preserved! Our condolences, With Much Love, - Richard, & Mildred Rowe Sanders' Other Kids
