Funeral services for Gertrude Elizabeth Parker, 91, of Falkville will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, August 17, 2014, at Moss-Service Funeral Home Chapel, the Rev. Jerry Freeman officiating, with burial in Cold Springs Cemetery.
Moss-Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Gertrude passed away at her home Thursday, August 14. She was born February 12, 1923, to James and Lula Lax Godwin.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 63 years, Johnnie B. Parker Sr.; a daughter, Debra Alexander; two sons, Johnnie B. Parker Jr., and an infant son, Donald Parker; and four siblings.
Survivors include six daughters, Jewell (Pete) Parker, Margaret (Randy) Naylor, Paula (Lynn) Cheatham, Rosemary (Chester) Craven, Louise Parker and Maudie (Herbert) Graves; a son-in-law, Billy Alexander; 15 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and a host of other family.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
