Ms. Cook was born on February 20, 1938 to Louis and Pearl Molan Cook. She loved her family and dedicated her life to taking care of them. She attended Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Jones Chapel. She loved going to church and reading her Bible. Her friends would come to her home regularly to read and study the Bible with her. Since Ima never had any children of her own, her nieces and nephews filled that role in her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis Thomas and Pearl Austell Cook; brother, Dwight Cook; sister-in-law, Annette Cook; nephews, Eric Cook and Jeffrey Cook; great niece, Augusta Bolden and a host of other family and friends.
She leaves to cherish her memory brothers, Wallace (Dean) Cook of Chumuckla, FL, Gorden (Carol) Cook of Hanceville, AL, Gilbert (Louise) Cook of Eva, AL, Earl (Joan) Cook of Gonzales, FL and Louis (Martha) Cook of Cullman, AL; sisters, Murriel (Leon) Humphrey of Eva, AL and Maranell (John) Bradley of Eva, AL; Aunt, Lois Cook of Hartselle, AL; 21 nieces and nephews; 33 great-nieces and nephews; 20 great-great-nieces and nephews and one great-great-great-nephew.
Her family will receive friends at Moss Service Funeral Home on Thursday, March 21, 2019 from 5:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. The Celebration of Life Service for Ima Lee Cook will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 22, 2019 at Etha Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Hollis Gardner officiating. A viewing will be at the church beginning at 1 p.m. until service time. Burial will follow at Etha Cemetery. Services entrusted to Moss Service Funeral Home.
