Mr. James Knight Dial Sr.

Funeral services for Mr. James Knight Dial Sr., age 80 of Hanceville, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 19, 2010 in the Moss-Service Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery, with Rev. Mitchell Williams officiating.

James passed away on Thursday, September 16, 2010 at Walker Baptist Hospital. He was born on June 4, 1930 to Horton and Mary Lois Knight Dial. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, and had retired from the manufacturing industry working in part with NASA. Church was a major part of his life, holding several offices, and a bigger part was helping with the kids at church and in the community.

He is preceded in death by his parents, two sons, Jeffry Dial and Tommy Dial; two sisters, Jane Reese and Betty Boone.

Survivors include a loving and dedicated Wife of 59 years, Margie Pitzing Dial; one Daughter – Deborah (Tom) Osborne; one Son – James (Sue) Dial Jr.; one Brother – Jerry (Marilyn) Dial; two Grandsons – Troy (Kammie) Allison and Karl Allison; one Great-Grandson – Troy Allison Jr.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, September 18, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
