Funeral services for James F. Hancock, 81, Hanceville, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 22, 2011, at Moss Service Funeral Home chapel, with Robert Freeman and Harold Hancock officiating. Visitation will be Friday, Jan. 21, 2011, from 5:30-9 p.m.
Moss Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
He died Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2011, at his residence.
He was a teacher, an insurance adjuster, and a retired lieutenant colonel. He was a veteran of the Korean War, having served in the Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Albert Hancock Sr. and Lillian Victoria Shedd; a son, Randy Hancock; and a brother, Tom Hancock.
Survivors include his wife, Belva Faye Hancock; daughters, Pamela (Patrick) Bryant, Patti (Elliott) Bennett, Vicki (Eric) Shaw, and Holly (Neal) McLeod; a son, Greg Hancock; brothers, Sherrell Hancock and Harold Hancock; 12 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
