Rev. John Buren "Hunky" Blackwood

Funeral services for the Rev. John B. “Hunky” Blackwood, 87, of Cullman will be at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 30, 2011, at Moss-Service Funeral Home Chapel, Bro. Tommy Blackwood officiating, with burial in Crossroads Cemetery.

Moss-Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Rev. Blackwood died Friday, Oct. 28, at his residence. He was born May 14, 1924, to John D. and Winnie Alldredge Blackwood. He was a sheet metal shop owner.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Jimmy Blackwood; and two brothers, T.J. and Eldridge Blackwood.

Survivors include his wife, Bonnie McBrayer Blackwood; a son, Tommy (Shiela) Blackwood; a daughter, Connie (J.C.) Cook; a brother, James (Barbara) Blackwood; a daughter-in-law, Linda Blackwood; four grandchildren, Keith Blackwood, Johnny Cook, Malorie Blackwood and Leah Blackwood; and four great-grandchildren, Stephanie Cook, Jennifer Blackwood, Karlie Cook and Lathan Cook.

Pallbearers will be Doug Pitts, David Estes, James Blackwood, Bobby Waddle, Donald Abbott and Dillon Calvert.

Honorary pallbearer will be Melvin Davis.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday.
