Mrs. Lila Jean Filyaw, age 86 of Cullman, passed away on Monday, May 22, 2023 at Cullman Regional Medical Center. She was born on November 21, 1936 in Cullman, Alabama to Arthur F. “Buck” and Alice Morris and is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Talmadge Filyaw; two daughters, Tena Filyaw and Sheree Steele; a son-in-law, Bruce McAlpine; a brother, Sonny Morris; and two sisters, Norma Bradley and Betty Sue Morris.
Survivors include her daughter, Tammy McAlpine (Bobby Yearwood); grandchildren: Carrie (Kalen) Adams, Jake Filyaw, Layla (Seth) Wasilewski, Joy (Joey) Duncan and Nick (Melissa) McAlpine; great grandchildren: Alyssa Adams, Chloe Adams, Jaycie Filyaw, Preslea Filyaw, Tucker Williams, Trentley Vincent, Rowen Wasilewski, Ella Rae Wasilewski, Chase Duncan and Matthew McAlpine.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, May 25, 2023 at 4pm at Emeus Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 1pm to 3pm at Moss Service Funeral Home.
