

Funeral Services for Mr. Mack C. Rice, age 88, of Good Hope, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 16, 2013 in the Moss-Service Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Cullman City Cemetery, with Billy Randolph, Tommy Graves and Whit Rice officiating.

Mr. Rice was born in Cullman on April 13, 1925 to the late Mell & Mattie Mitchell Rice. Mack worked many years with US Steel, and was always on the farm. He served two terms on the Cullman County School Board, from 1973 until 1981; and was also a member and elder at 4th Street church of Christ. Mack cherished his family and friends; and one of his well known quotes “You don’t buy friends, you make friends”.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 58 years, Callie Mae Graves Rice; two brothers, Porter Rice and Preston Rice; two sisters, Ronetta Ogletree and Ronelda Rice.
Survivors include his Daughter – Marilyn Rice of Hanceville; one Son – Donnie (Donna) Rice of Cullman; one Sister – Lorene Parker of Cullman; four 4 – Grandchildren – Whit (Jessica) Rice, Jared Rice, Leysha Canady and Robyn (Brittany) Canady; and one Great-Grandchild – Sage Canady
The family will be receiving friends for visitation on Friday, November 15, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
