Melba Jean Bartlett

Melba was known and will be remembered for her colorful yard decorations, always painted vibrantly. She was a member of Simcoe Baptist Church.

Melba was predeceased by her son, Randy Bartlett; her siblings, Basil, Cecil, Faye, and Wanda; and her parents, Cliff Denney and Lilia York Denney.

She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Smith (Chuck Hicks); her son, Scott Bartlett (Bethany Bartlett); her grandchildren, Latonia Burden (Jeremy), Jena Bartlett, Daniel Bartlett (Heather), Sabrina Paine (Chuck) and Austin Bartlett; her great-grandchildren, Kaley Riddle (Austin), Henry Paine, and Travis Paine; and her sister, JoAnn Smith (J.D.).

A celebration of life visitation will be held at Moss-Service Funeral Home on January 29, 2026, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. A Celebration of Life will follow this at the same location from 12:00 pm to 12:45 pm. Burial will take place at New Friendship Baptist Church, 2150 New Friendship Rd, Union Grove, AL 35175, from 2:00 pm to 2:15 pm on the same day.
