With profound sadness, we announce the peaceful passing of Michael Charles Parris, 68, on March 9,2026, in Birmingham, Alabama. Born on April 11, 1957, in Cullman, Alabama, to Doris Parris and the late Charles Parris, Michael was a beacon of kindness, love, and warmth, and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Michael was a loving and devoted husband to Phyllis Parris, with whom he shared 50 beautiful years. In addition to his wife, he leaves behind his two sons, Jeremy Parris and Charlie Parris (Tanya). They will always remember their father's welcoming nature and the comfort of his presence. His beloved grandchildren, Gavin and Reagan Parris, were his pride and joy, and he relished every moment spent with them.
Michael is also survived by his mother Doris Parris, his brother Mark Parris, his brother-in-law George Weeks (Cindy), his sister-in-law Sheree Parris and his brother-in-law Ray Henderson along with a host of family including aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and close friends. Michael was preceded in death by his father Charles Parris, his brother Steve Parris, brother-in-law Lee Weeks, his sister-in-law Denise Henderson and his grandparents.
Throughout his life, Michael was a hardworking and dedicated individual. He spent many years as a truck driver, a career that suited his love for the open road. However, his true passion lay with his family, particularly his grandchildren. He was a constant source of love and support, always there with a kind word or a welcoming smile.
Known for his kindness, love, and welcoming spirit, Michael was the kind of man who made everyone around him feel appreciated and cherished. His presence enriched the lives of those who knew him, and his memory will forever be a source of comfort and inspiration.
As we bid farewell to a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, we remember his kindness, his love, and the joy he brought into our lives. Michael's story is not defined by his passing but by the countless moments of joy and love he shared with those around him. His legacy will be carried on through the lives of those he touched.
Celebration of life visitation will be held at Moss Funeral Home on Thursday, March 19, 2026 from 6 until 9 PM.
