Myrtis C. Shelton, age 82, of Hanceville, Alabama passed away on Saturday, May 24, 2025.

Myrtis was preceded in death by her parents Jim Clingan and Sarah Addison Clingan, sisters Jimmy Lou Calvert, Margie Adams, Betty Joe Stanfield, brothers Sonny Clingan and Norman Clingan.

She is survived by her husband J.V. Shelton, sons Byron (Janet) Shelton, and Barry Shelton, sister Juanita Jernigan, 6 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

A visitation for Myrtis will be held Wednesday, May 28, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Moss-Service Funeral Home Chapel, 1901 2nd Ave Northwest, Cullman, AL 35055. The Lie-In-State will be on Thursday, May 29, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Shelton Grove Baptist Church, 1615 Co Rd 46, Hanceville, AL 35077. The funeral service will start at 2:00 PM, officiated by Jeff Freeman followed by the graveside service at Shelton Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
