Omri Edward Holmes

Mr. Omri Edward Holmes of Eva Alabama passed away on December 11, 2012 at his residence at the age of 85. He was born in Morgan County on May 5, 1927 to Arthur Herbert and Annice Adaline Hyatt Holmes. Mr. Holmes was a veteran of The United States Army. He is preceded in death by his parents, Wives: Mother of his children: Mildred Clarine Moore Holmes and Hazel Harris Holmes, 2 Brothers: Ovis and Royal Holmes, 1 Sister: Una Mae Holmes Ford, 1 Grandson: Kevin Shawn Ozbolt, 1 Great Granddaughter: Kayla Holmes.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday December 15, 2012 at Gum Pond Primitive Baptist Church at 11: 00 A.M. with Elders J.L. Hopper, Heath Williams and David Guttery officiating. Interment will be in Bethel Methodist Cemetery in Eva Alabama.

Survivors are: 3 Daughters: Rebecca Lynn (Doug) Holcomb, Rita (Dan) McCain, Melissa Denise (Kevin) Ozbolt, 3 Sons: Dewayne (Sandra) Holmes, Roland (Lorraine) Holmes, Barry (Carol) Holmes, 3 Sisters: Verna Holcomb, Glenda (J.L.) Hopper, Dean Thompson, 1 Brother: Arvid (Wilda) Holmes, 13 Grandchildren and 24 Great Grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be: Jason Holmes, Gerald Holmes, Jerry Holmes, Dan Hopper, Mark Holmes and James Holmes.
