Mr. Paul "Mitch" Mitchell Lackey

Funeral Services for Mr. Paul Mitchell “Mitch” Lackey, age 52 of Vinemont, will be held on Sunday, May 15, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in the Moss-Service Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at East Point Presbyterian Cemetery, with Rev. Terry Tingle officiating.

Mr. Lackey passed away on Thursday, May 12, 2011 at Attalla Health Care. He was born in Cullman on April 8, 1959 to Paul F. Lackey and Evelyn Jean Sparks Lackey. He attended the University of North Alabama (Deans List), Auburn University, University of Alabama – Birmingham, Rocky Mountain School of Fine Arts (Mime Artist), with a major in Drama and Business Administration; a member of the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity. Mitch was seriously injured in an auto accident in August 1987 in Woodstock, GA, with a closed head injury and was disabled since. He had worked as a make-up artist and in retail sales.

Survivors include his Parents – Paul F. Lackey and Evelyn Jean Lackey; two 2 – Sisters – Paulette (Riley) Trimble and Donna (Jerry) Hendrix; and several Nieces and Nephews – Jamie Oliver, Eli (Sabrina) Trimble, Riley Trimble III, Sara (Mark) McClendon; and Daryl (Beckie) Moon.

The family will receive friends here at the funeral home on Saturday, May 14, 2011, from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Dr. Mark McClendon, Riley O. Trimble III, Eli Trimble, Daryl Moon, Jeff Hanson and Dr. Tom Williamson.

Donations may be made to the Building Fund at First Presbyterian Church, Cullman in Lieu-of-flowers.
