Mr. Murray served in the Army during WWII. His favorite hobby was fishing and was known by many for being a great fisherman. He also enjoyed truck farming and supplied produce to the local stores.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Wavalue Murray, his parents: Roy & Alma Murray and 7 siblings.
He leaves to cherish his memory his daughters: Brenda (Sam) Scott, Barbara (Johnnie) Cole and Becky (John) Mullinax; sons: Glenn (Teresa) Murray, Dennis Murray and Steve (Melanie) Murray; grandchildren: Bradley Scott and his fiancée Sujata, Tina (Jeremy) Calvert, Misty (Tim) Knight, Christy Sanford, Colby Murray, Tommy (Emily) Murray and Jennifer (Brandon) Kennemur; 9 great grandsons and sisters: Colene Duncan Johnston and Nancy Abernathy.
Mr. Murray’s family will receive friends on Saturday, August 18, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Moss Service Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life service will begin at 4:00 p.m. in the chapel of Moss Service Funeral Home. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Prospect Church of Christ Cemetery located at Guthery’s Cross Roads.
