

Funeral Services for Rev. Roland Louie Westmoreland, age 75 of Vinemont, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 23, 2013 at Corinth FCM Church. Burial will follow at Mt. Vernon FCM Cemetery with Rev. Wayne Jetton, Rev. Glenn McCain and Rev. Mike Smith officiating. Mr. Westmoreland will lie-in-state at the church for one hour prior to the service.

Rev. Westmoreland passed away at Cullman Regional Medical Center on Friday, June 21, 2013. He was born to the late Porter Westmoreland and Ozell Walker Westmoreland in Winston County on June 18, 1938. Roland started a career with the Birmingham Zoo, and then to serve his country, he entered the U.S. Army. After completing his time, he was offered a job as the Director of the Circle M Zoo, in Virginia; after several years, and returning back to Alabama, began work at Nicholson File. In the mean time, he had his calling to preach, and became the Pastor at Corinth FCM and Mt. Vernon FCM Church’s, until his retirement.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and one Son, Kevin Glenn Westmoreland in 2002.
Survivors include his Wife of 54 years – Mickey Westmoreland; one Daughter – Michela Marie Wade; five 5 – Grandchildren – Zachrey (Felecia) Westmoreland, Kendra Westmoreland, Jennifer Wade, Kailee Wade and Kevin Wade; one Great-Granddaughter – Jessa Marie Grace Eddy; one Sister – Anita (Wade) Cook; and one Brother – Jim (Daphene) Westmoreland; a host of Cousins, Family and Friends.
The family will receive friends for visitation at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 22, 2013
