

Funeral services for Dwight Foust 85 of Cullman will be at 11 am on Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at the Moss-Service Funeral Home Chapel. The Reverend Larry Brown and John Raley will officiate with burial in the Cullman City Cemetery.
Moss-Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Foust passed away on Saturday, January 12, 2013 in the comfort of his home with family and friends at his side. Dwight was a lifelong resident of Cullman and a small business owner for many years. He established Foust Auto Electric & Service in the 1950’s and was one of the first auto repair facilities to focus on maintenance and repair of foreign manufactured vehicles with a specialty in Volkswagens. Dwight had a loyal customer base and gave his customers dedicated service over the years. He was a veteran of World War II having served as Seaman First Class with the U.S. Navy in Yokosuka, Japan. He received the Asiatic Pacific Victory Medal for his service to the country. Dwight was active in the 50’s and 60’s in the Jaycees, Cullman Parks and Recreation Board and also in the Tennessee Valley Chapter of the Boy Scouts of America. Dwight was also a long term member of the Cullman Masonic Lodge and served as their Grand Master in 1993-1994. Dwight was also an inventor having registered and received approval for several patents from the U.S. Patent Office for automotive related inventions. Dwight was an avid gardner throughout his life and he always planted a large garden and enjoyed distributing it to neighbors, friends and relatives. Dwight was a long time member of the Center Hill United Methodist Church and served in numerous leadership positions. He was most recently a member of the First United Methodist Church in Cullman.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, and the mother of his children, Imogene Chambers Foust, and his parents, Roy and Annie Foust.
Survivors include his wife, Louise Foust; children, Earl (Nan) Foust of Birmingham, Neil Foust of Tokyo, Japan, and Barry (Julie) Foust of Cullman and step-daughter, Judy Glanders of Huntsville; grandchildren, Andrew Dwight Foust of Princeton, New Jersey, Kathrine (Drew) Farmer of North Manchester, Indiana and Margaret Foust, Janie Foust, and Riley Foust of Cullman; Michelle Glanders and Brett Glanders of Huntsville; and one great grandchild, Addisen Glanders of Huntsville. He is also survived by two uncles, the Reverend Hubert Foust of Graham, Texas and Virgil Foust of Prattville and one aunt, Vera Tenant of Artisia, New Mexico.
Pallbearers will be Andrew Foust, Riley Foust, Brett Glanders, Harold Smith, Tommy Chambers, Ron Foust and Mike Johnson.
Visitation will be from 6 pm to 9 pm on Monday, January 14, 2013. Memorial contributions may be made to Bates Masonic Scholarship Fund and mailed to Cullman Masonic Lodge, P.O. Box 575, Cullman, AL 35056 or Trinity Baptist Church at 1701 Childhaven Road NE, Cullman, AL 35055.
The family would like to thank Kem Langseth, Pam Taylor and numerous others for the loving care they provided Dwight during his illness.
