It is written...

A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.” (Proverbs 17:17)

“A man of many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks
closer than a brother.” (Proverbs 18:24)

These kind of friends—are hard to find.

If you have ever gotten in a bind, had a major failure, or somehow lost your way, then you realized just how rare true friendship really is in our lives. The true friends show up at your doorstep ready to help.

Delane was that kind of friend.

I do not know who originally said it, but I believe the saying to be true nonetheless: "At times like these, there really are no words, but there is the Word." The Word of God. I know I can always find words of comfort and strength written; in God’s Holy Word.

I read that Jesus too has felt the pain of losing a loved one. We read in John 11:35 just two words: Jesus wept. The Son of God weeping at the sight of his friend Lazarus who had past away. But why? Why did Jesus himself cry? I think it was because He saw the grief around Him, and knew why death was here, what it does and what it represents. He knew it wasn’t supposed to be this way. Jesus knew why He would have to give Himself to die on the cross to overcome death… and to give us hope.

Delane is now in the hands of a loving and just God. So what does that mean for the friends and family he left behind?

To paraphrase Ecclesiastes 12:5-7 ...For man goes to his eternal home while mourners go about in the street..then the dust will return to the earth as it was, and the spirit will return to God who gave it.. " therefore, we should all be doing our best to return a clean and unspotted spirit back or our God.

You all are friends/family of Delane, which makes you a friend/family of mine. We share the pain of this loss together.

I have so many wonderful memories with Delane. However, my best memories with him were walking on his property and in the woods next to his property 💕 listening to the birds. We also loved to watch movies together... it would take us hours to watch some movies, because we would both over-analyze and talk all the way through 😊 I will miss his daily call and conversations and I will always love him.

He was one of my classmates, we had a great visit at our 30th class reunion. I’ll never forget him. Even though he was very quiet and laid back. He left a smile in my heart I’ll never forget. Rest In Peace my friend.
