Brooklyn was so different than other girls. Not only in the fact that she rode four-wheelers and flew airplanes, but in the way she acted. When all the other girls wanted to talk about going to the beach and painting their nails, Brooklyn would talk about the time she flew her first loop de loop. One time I was just minding my own business at home when I got a call from her. We were always talking, texting, and calling each other. So I picked up the phone and answered. She didn't even say hello. She heard me pick up and said, "I'm at the beach" in a normal, "this happens everyday" voice. This surprised me. Any other girl would have called the second they found out and would have rambled on and on about what they were gonna do. Brooklyn, on the other hand, called me probably days after she arrived. We would sit on the edge of her pool, eat watermelon, and enjoy the sun. When we got bored, we'd hop on the four-wheelers and start going. I remember there was a small ditch in one of her pathways. She'd make me get off the four-wheeler and stand back. Then she'd rev the engine and ride over the ditch. She only came off the ground like 6 inches and I couldn't help but laugh. I have so many more memories. Like how she had a "treehouse" in her backyard. It was a small house with a loft inside that was all mounted on cinderblocks. She hadn't gone in there in a while so it was full of leaves and dirt. We swept and washed every inch of that space. Soon we moved in new furniture and turned the loft into our art areah. She was the single best friend I will ever have. See you again one day.

Brooklyn Walker was my best friend. She was obsessed with flying. During recess, we would both sit on top of the monkey bars. We used to swing by our legs and flip off the top together, or just sit and talk. Even when she wasn't flying, she'd get as high up as possible. We had the kind of relationship where you could sit in complete silence and it wouldn't be weird at all.

Our family was so blessed to have Tyler and Brooklyn in our lives. Brooklyn is my daughter Jill’s best friend. Iv always prayed for my kids to each find a good lasting friendship. Iv talked so much about my best friend Kristyn that I’ve known since kindergarten and what a true friend is like. I remember Jill coming home talking about Brooklyn every day. Jill can be kindof shy when it comes to making friends but Brooklyn was the type of friend that did the reaching out, the pursuing. She invited Jill to sit with her at lunch. She asked her to play on the playground. She brought her snacks from home and money to buy her snacks at school. Jill would say goodbye to Brooklyn at school then get in the car at pickup and immediately ask for my phone so she could call Her. One day Jill came home and said “Mom, I think I found my Kristyn”. These photo are from Jills birthday. We let her choose one friend to bring and of course it was sweet Brooklyn.
We love you Michelle, Easton, and Sky!
