Funeral services for Virgie Josephine McCain, 82, of Crane Hill will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 20, 2012, at Mt. Hope Baptist Church, the Revs. Charles Johnson and Delbert Freeman officiating, with burial in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Mrs. McCain will lie in state from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church.
Moss-Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. McCain died Sunday, June 17, at her residence. She was born Sept. 21, 1929, to Earnest and Ara Brooks West. She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Ethel Brannon; and two brothers, Roland West and Hershel West.
Survivors include her husband, W. Harvey McCain; two sons, Maurice (Pam) McCain and Jerry “Luke” (Sonda) McCain; four grandchildren, Jason (Beth) McCain, Jeremy McCain, Cody (Samantha) McCain and Savannah McCain; and five great-grandchildren, Zoe' McCain, Zack McCain, Zeth McCain, Dominic McCain and Lilly McCain.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the church.
