Mr. William “Bill” Leland Hollis of Cullman Alabama passed away on May 17, 2015 at Walker Baptist Medical Center at the age of 90. He was born in Cullman on March 8, 1925 to Adair and Florence Marie Nunn Hollis. Mr. Hollis was a veteran of The United States Army and served his country in World War II fighting bravely in the Battle of the Bulge and was decorated with The Bronze Star. After the war he went to Auburn University and graduated in Math and Agricultural Science.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at Moss Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Larry Brown officiating. Interment will be in New Prospect Cemetery.
Survivors are: Wife of 67 years: Mary Sargent Hollis, 2 Daughters: Elaine (Jerry) Johnson, Janice (Doug) Lowery, 4 Sons: Thomas (Denise) Hollis, Charles (Lisa) Hollis, Wayne (Beverly) Hollis, James (Kim) Hollis, 1 Sister: Lorene Edwards. He was also blessed with 12 Grandchildren and 17 Great Grandchildren.
He served the Lord faithfully and was ready to go home.
Visitation will be at Moss Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 19, 2015 from 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M.
