Mr. Sexton died Friday, Oct. 4, at M.D. Anderson Hospital in Houston, Texas. Mr. Sexton was a longtime resident of Birmingham where he worked as plant engineer for Bud’s Best Cookies. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, as well as a loving husband, father, and father-in-law who adored his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His greatest satisfaction in life came from hard work and helping others. Mr. Sexton moved his family to Cullman after his retirement.
He was preceded in death by his father, Luther Manley Sexton; and his mother, Vergie Mae Sanders.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Sexton; sons, Steve (Denise) Sexton of Panama City, Fla., and Stanley (Diane) Sexton of Panama City, Fla.; his daughter, Judy (Larry) Bell of Cullman, Ala.; grandchildren Matt (Cristi) Sexton, Mark (Alisia) Sexton, Michael (Jennifer) Sexton, Meghan Sexton, Todd (Amanda) Sexton, Jodi (Scott) Koloc, Amanda Bell and Zac Bell, 9 Great Grandchildren along with a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
