Funeral services for Winfred James Hinkle, 84, of Cullman will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 20, 2011, at Good Hope Baptist Church, the Rev. Ralph Andrews officiating, with interment in Good Hope Cemetery. The body will lie in state from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church.
Moss-Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Hinkle died Sunday, April 17, at UAB Medical Center in Birmingham. He was born May 18, 1926, in Hanceville to Harlis and Dessie McClintock Hinkle. He was a cabinet maker for 30-plus years and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served during World War II.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Genell Hinkle; a son, Jim (Sue) Hinkle; two daughters, Linda (Leon) McClendon and Donna (Larry) Waites; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Syble Hayes and Melba Alexander; and a host of nieces and nephews.
