

Born in St. Albans, Brooklyn, N.Y., on September 14, 1933, the fifth of six siblings, to Edward Francis and Florence Green Scully. Alice met the love of her life, John Robert "Bob" Hauge and married in 1953. In 1965, they moved their family to Culpeper, Virginia, where their close friends Marie and Eugene “Hughie” Farnam, had recently settled. Alice, Bob, Marie and Hughie remained neighbors and best friends for life.
Alice began her professional career at Doubleday Publishing in New York City. In Virginia, she served in numerous roles in the Culpeper County School System. Upon her retirement from the school system, she managed a family business, Jackie’s Uniform Shop for sixteen years.
Alice has been a member of the Precious Blood Catholic Church in Culpeper and a member of the Flamingo Club. Alice loved the beach and vacationed in the Outer Banks with her family and in later years annually with her daughter, Patricia. More than anything, she adored her family and friends.
Alice is survived by her children, Bobby and wife, Bonnie, Patricia and husband, Patrick, and Jacqueline and husband, Jack, and Mary Kovi; grandchildren, Alexis Hanson (Michael) Sara Iqbal (Danny), Ashton Hauge, Justine Hauge, Ashley Slater (Eric Speer), Taylor Slater, Madison Slater, Reade Hauge, John Dempster, and Melissa Sautel Youts; and great-grandson, Grayson Iqbal.
Surviving siblings include Edward Scully and Danny Scully, additional survivors include niece, Ellen Bruce and lifelong friends, Rose Biangardi, June Garr, Michele and Charles Jameson and Patty Hitt. The family would like to acknowledge Lisa Davis for the tremendous love, care and support she provided to Alice.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by siblings, Catherine, John and Mary and son-in-law, Steven Sautel.
The family will receive friends Monday, October 24, 2022, from 5 until 7 p.m. at Clore-English Funeral Home, Culpeper, Va. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, October 25, 2022, at 8:30 a.m. at Precious Blood Catholic Church with interment to follow services in the Culpeper National Cemetery, Old Grounds.
