I had the honor of being one of Mrs Byrds students. I later had the privilege to teach her son Parker. Without a doubt I owe some of my teaching style to Amy. My sincere condolences to the family🙏🏽

I knew Amy in the mid- to late 1970s when I lived in Rappahannock County and met her through a mutual friend. She sometimes cut my hair; she sewed a couple of garments for me. Mostly I saw her at parties of other young people. I did enjoy knowing her, although we didn't keep in touch after I left the state. I am thrilled to know that she became such an acclaimed teacher. My sympathies to all her family. She was the good kind of one-of-a-kind.

She was smart and funny and crazy, and I miss the times we walked in the halls together and made each other laugh.
