Barbara Lucille Becker

Barbara Lucielle Becker of Rixeyville, VA, passed away January 9, 2022 at her residence at the age of 88. Born in Kentucky February 13, 1933, to Brice Dean and Katie Ethel Roland Dean, Barbara wore many hats, but none as important as taking care of her family.

Barbara was a true follower of Christ, her Lord and Savior; was a fantastic car saleswoman; worked for the U.S. Post Office for many years until retirement; sold T Fal and Culligan Water Systems; worked as a route sales person for Nestle Corporation. She was very proud that she started her working life at the age of 18 as a Western Union Operator, reminding her family about it her whole life.

She had many interests as well; photography, gardening, flowers and so much more; an avid reader, she read anything she could get her hands on; paint by numbers was a favorite as well and she did that all of her kid’s life; occasionally she would paint free hand, such as “the famous yum yum tree’, which her family remembers and laughs about it with love.

What do you say about an amazing woman? She was Carl’s perfect helpmeet. Together, they built houses, gazebos, cabins and more; most importantly, Barbara and Carl had a love of a lifetime.

She leaves behind her precious husband Carl Becker, her children; Barbara Jean Bilodeau, Carl Edwin and Sandy Becker, MaryAnne Corvin, Charles Roger and Carol Becker, Michael Joseph and Valerie Becker, Jonathan Mark Becker (Tara), 17 Grandchildren, 23 Great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, and her younger brother Jess Dean (Charlotte).

In addition to her parents, her grandson, Jesse Corvin, grandson baby Aaron and seven of her siblings precedes Barbara in death.

The family will receive friends Saturday, January 15, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. until service time at Clore-English Funeral Home, 11190 James Monroe Highway, Culpeper, VA with a service at 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow at the family farm.
