

Billy David "Red Dawg" Meredith, 74, of Reva, died Sunday, August 22, 2021 at Martinsburg VA Medical Center, WV. He was born June 10, 1947 to the late Edward and Mabel Meredith in Jasper, VA, Lee County.
Billy was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and great friend. A Vietnam veteran, he loved God, his family, and country. Billy was a simple man who liked the mountains, hunting, fishing, and football. Through the years, he worked for Carpenter Seed Plant, Rochester Ropes, and retired after 26 years as a blaster for William A Hazel Construction. In retirement, he enjoyed drinking a good cup of coffee on the back porch, spending time with his family, and watching westerns on TV.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Betty Fincham Meredith; one son, Jeremy David Meredith (Stacy); one daughter, Kelly Meredith Fenley (Andrew); five grandchildren, Ryan, Sean and Liam Meredith, and John and Virginia Fenley; three brothers, Hughie Meredith (Ruby), Larry Meredith (Judy) and Robert Meredith (Linda); and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, Billy is preceded in death by three brothers, Leonard Echol Meredith, Gene Autry Meredith, and Thomas Edward Meredith.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Friday, August 27, 2021 at Clore-English Funeral Home, 11190 James Monroe Highway, Culpeper, VA with Pastor Sandy Martin officiating. The family will receive guests one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Culpeper National Cemetery.
