Bonnie graduated from Culpeper County High School, where she excelled in business and secretarial classes. She soon went to work for the Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics, in Washington, D.C., and continued to take classes at Strayer College. She retired as a Budget Analyst after more than 35 years of service.
Bonnie was a member of the Culpeper Hospital Auxiliary Board, where she functioned as Corresponding Secretary. She was a life-long member of Culpeper Baptist Church. Her love of music inspired her to be a part of the church’s Adult Choir, and her love for plants and gardening led her to serve on the church’s Flower Committee. She was also a member of the Salem Garden Club.
Bonnie is survived by her brother Michael (Joy) Viar, and sister, Robin (Brad) Massie, six nieces and nephews and eleven grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
Visitation for friends and family will take place at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, December 1, 2022 in the Culpeper Baptist Church Worship Center, 318 South West Street, with Funeral Services held at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Dan Carlton and Pastor Nate Viar officiating. Burial will follow services in Fairview Cemetery, 822 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, Virginia.
Gentlemen serving as pallbearers are Adrian Utz, Avery Utz, Matt Utz, Andrew Viar, Matt Viar and Nate Viar.
