

He will be remembered for being Grandpa, as an accomplished poet and writer, his artistic abilities and a Mathematician and Teacher of math at all levels. He had quite a colorful military career as Chief of Maintenance on bombers and jet fighter aircraft stationed all over the world. He finished his career at one of the Pentagon’s Logistics Engineering offices (LEX). He was also a graduate of Thomas Edison College, Edison, NJ.
Born August 26, 1924, to Daniel and Rose McElwain in Union City, NJ; Co. Daniel Bernard McElwain, Jr. is survived by three sons and one daughter, his brother and sister. His eldest son, Daniel B. McElwain, III, passed away in 1999, as well as his wife, Palma (Pam) in 2006.
There will be a time of visitation held at Clore-English Funeral Home, Friday, February 1, 2013, from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
He will be interred with his wife Pam at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA, with full military honors.
