Della Sue was a neighbor child that lived very close to me from the time she and her family came to Arlington, Va. in the early 1940's. We played together almost everyday and walked to school together with the other 10 or so children in our neighborhood. The pictures of her are still of the face that I remember so well. She was a great student during her time in Elementary thru High School at W-L.
We both went to the same schools and we mostly in the same classes.

I am very sorry for your loss, because she was an early good friend, playmate, homework source, and neighbor during the first 18 years of my life.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss! Mrs. Lipscomb was one of my favorite teachers in junior high, and she was always so kind and encouraging. As a teacher myself now, I can only hope that I instill the love of education in my students the way she did in hers. And as a woman, I know that what I learned from Home Ec. is part of why I love to cook and sew today.
Please know that you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers in this time of remembrance! Sincerely, Kimberly Lyle Robinson

Bob and family, Bill and I were so sad to hear of Sue's passing. We are in Phoenix, Arizona visiting our daughter, Julie, and will not be there to celebrate Sue's life. Sue was a wonderful friend that I cherished. Her wit and humor was a gift to us at school and whenever we were socializing....she was a very special lady with much compassion and many talents. Her family was very special to her and she talked about you often. I am sure she will be looking down on you and taking care of you. Bill and I will miss her but are glad that she is now at rest. My deepest sympathy to the Lipscomb Family. Mrs. Lipscomb was an excellent teacher and most of all, a wonderful and caring lady. At Culpeper County Junior High, she was my home economics teacher. She knew my mother and knew that she taught me how to sew at a very young age. Many times in home ec class, Mrs. Lipscomb asked me to assist some of the students with their sewing projects - it was such a great pleasure! Keep the many sweet and everlasting memories of her very close to your hearts as she will always be with each of you. God Bless.
Lovingly, Angela Jeffers Chapman, Culpeper, VA
