Derrick, you showed us the true meaning of enjoying life and to be happy. Mark and I had the pleasure to live next door to you for awhile and see you and was bless know you. You always had a smile on your face when we came to visit. I remember how Bobbi (our dog) always ran and sat at the window of our house when you went to school and came home. I don't know how she knew but she would run to the window and sit there before the bus would come. Thank you for showing us to smile! You will be missed but know you will be our special angel watching over everyone, especially your mom.

Through the years, my grandson Derrick was the sweetest, bravest, and happiest person I will ever know. We loved him so very much; but, he gave us so much more. I was with him from day 1, and his mother and I were with him when God called him home. I will always cherish the time Derrick and I had together, and how he would wrap his arms around me, and give me a hug. Mimi loves you, and you are forever in my heart, Derrick.
