Dora Ann Powell

Dora Ann Powell, 80, passed away peacefully, Friday, November 28, 2014. She was born to Lester H. Chumley and Rosie Ann Hunley Chumley May 18, 1934. Ann enjoyed making a home for her family. Ann was a member of Mithchells Presbyterian Church for many years.

She is survived by her children, Frances Powell of Culpeper, VA, Jesse A. Powell and his wife Tammy of Culpeper, VA, Carrington W. Powell and his wife Melody of Mitchells, VA, Ralph C. Powell, Jr. and his wife Linda of Warrenton,, VA, Sharon M. Kramer and her husband Michael of Glen Allen, VA and Nora Lee and her husband Ronnie of Lignum, VA; and A lifelong friend Fred Soutter Sr., her grandchildren, Teresa Griffith and her husband Greg, Megan Furlong and husband Robert, Carrington W Powell Jr and wife Heather, Angel Hyatt, Monica Gough, Ashleigh Powell, Matthew Kramer, Kimberly Settle and husband Robert, Chad Lee and wife Ashlee and Cassandra Lee. Her great-grandchildren, Gregory Griffith Jr., Alexis (Beenie) Griffith, Breanna (Marie) Griffith, Eddie Griffith, Madison Furlong, Aden Powell, Ryleigh Gough, Ryan Gough, Aubree Powell, Harley Settle, Brodie Settle, Gunner Lee and Hank Lee. Her siblings, James Chumley, Carroll Chumley and Jesse Chumley and his wife Barbara. Ann is preceded in death by her husband Ralph Carrington Powell, Sr., her grandson Justin Powell, her brother Henry Chumley and sister Charlotte Hoffman, her half-siblings, Clay Henry “PeeWee” Chumley and Tommy Chumley. She also leaves a special friend and caregiver, Pat Banks and very close love one Regina Barnett and special friends, Ralph and Ginny Brown, Angie Suthard, and Dr. Tom Reynolds and her dogs Sparky, Bentley and Bella.

The family will receive friends Monday, December 1, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Clore-English Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 2, 2014 in the chapel of Clore-English Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor John Grotz conducting the service. Interment will be in Mitchell’s Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Mitchells, Virginia.
