

Elizabeth Christine Corbin., 93, passed away on December 13, 2023, at the INOVA Hospital in Alexandria Va. She was born on October 4, 1930, to the late Albert Byrd Gore and Neda Glenn Corbin Gore in Madison County, Va.
Christine is survived by her children, Bernard H. Corbin, Jr.(Bernie) and his wife Rhonda of Fountain Hills, AZ and Jane C. Burdette and her husband J.R. of Culpeper, VA; her grandchildren, Mitchell Corbin and Jennifer Golden; her great grandchildren, Tye and Cal Golden; brothers, Everett Milton Gore, Ray S. Gore (Margaret), and Lloyd Winfrey Gore; and sister, Linda R. Bazzle (William).Additional survivors include brother-in-law Sam Jenkins, sister-in-law Ella M. Gore, a host of nieces and nephews and other extended family.
In addition to her parents, Christine was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Bernard Corbin, her brothers Albert Garland Gore (Frances), Carlton "Mickey' Glenn Gore (Alice) and Otis Hill Gore, Sr.; sisters Sylvia Norris (Thomas), Helen Hart (Harold), Olive Arline Rupard (Willard), Dorothy Jenkins, Mary Eunice Jenkins (Roy), and Lois Jenkins (John); and sisters-in-law, Betty Lou Jenkins Gore and Edith Wade Clore Gore.
Christine was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. Her first job was in Culpeper at the Ritz Hi Hat, where patrons could get a complete turkey dinner for a mere 50 cents. Later she worked as a seamstress for over 35 years at various Culpeper plants. She enjoyed metal detecting with her husband, gardening, cooking, and always providing a safe haven for her family.. There was always a ham sandwich available when guests arrived. Mom's slogan was" If you leave my house hungry, its your own fault". She was known for her great sense of Humor and quick wit. Christine also loved going to town with her sisters and eating at the Chick fil a. Sometimes they would go for the big buffet, the Wood Grill in Charlottesville. The Golden Girls had nothing on this trio.
A funeral service will be held Friday, December 22 2023, at 12 noon at Bethel Baptist Church, 6328 Hoover Rd, Reva, VA 22735. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. (11AM).
Interment will follow at the Bethel Baptist Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Bethel Baptist Church or Reva Volunteer Fire and Rescue.
