Evelyn Ingram Sawyer

Evelyn Mae Ingram Sawyer of Culpeper, Virginia passed away on April 17th, 2025. She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard Terry and Irma Adams Ingram, her brother, Richard “Dick” Ingram, husband, Thomas Daniel Sawyer, and daughter, Cynthia Marie Sawyer. She is survived by her brother David Ingram, children, Leslie Bache, Daniel Sawyer, Thomas Sawyer, Douglas Sawyer, Michael Sawyer, and Kelly Yorck, as well as 20 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.

Known for her inexhaustible love, patience, and kindness, and her boundless generosity, she left an indelible mark on everyone she encountered. She never ceased blessing those around her, including the hundreds of kindergarten children she poured into for over thirty years, twenty-one of which spent at Farmington Elementary School.

Where there may have been doubt, she chose faith. Where there may have been despair, she chose hope. Where there may have been anger, she chose love. Always, she chose joy. We will love, honor, and cherish her memory forever.

Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen

The family will receive friends at Clore English funeral home on Monday, April 28 from 5:00pm-7:00pm. A Mass will be held at Precious Blood Catholic Church Tuesday, April 29 at 11:00am followed by a burial ceremony at Culpeper National Cemetery.
