Gwendolyn J Dominguez, 88, formerly of Valrico, Florida passed away on February 2, 2023 at the Culpeper Rehabilitation Center in Culpeper, VA. Gwen was born on December 3, 1934 to Genevieve and Joseph Kish of Bayonne, New Jersey. After graduating from Bayonne High School in 1952, she went on to work at Safeway in New York City where she met and married Richard Wilkens. They were married for 15 years and had 6 children.
After Richard’s death, Gwen married Edward Dominguez, lived in Port Reading, NJ, and celebrated 39 years of marriage and enjoyed their retirement years in Valrico, FL until Edward's passing in November of 2014.
Gwen was an avid reader, volunteered for many years at her community library, was a season passholder for many years at Disney's theme parks, Universal Studios, Bush Gardens and Sea World, and enjoyed her iPad and playing words with friends.
Gwen was predeceased by her husband Edward Dominguez and her sisters, Gloria Renollet of Valrico, Fl and Jean Buttery of Roselle, NJ. Gwen is survived by her children, Richard and his wife Christine of Spotswood, NJ, Theodore of Nevada, Robert and his wife Janice of Haymarket, VA, Glen and his wife Fran of Hillsborough, NJ, Linda Bericin and her husband John of Carteret, NJ, and Lisa Lerro of Colonia, NJ as well as 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Arrangements are being taken care of by Clore English Funeral Home in Culpeper, Va. At Gwen's request, no funeral will take place. Gwen always said, "If you want to see me, come see me while I'm still living, not after I'm gone". Gwen's wishes were to be cremated and her ashes returned to Florida for burial with her husband Edward at the Bushnell National Cemetery.
