

She was born June 27, 1942 in Washington D.C. to the late David Charles Gilmore and Mary Margaret (Peggy) Allen Gilmore.
Surviving Irma are her children; Temple Leavell and her husband Robbie of Culpeper and Bonnie Kenney and her husband Travis of Culpeper; grandchildren Christopher, Jake, Colby, Samantha, Jack, David and Kelsi; great grandchildren Crislynn, Violet and Riley; a brother George Gilmore (Norma) and a sister Susie Contaoi (Robert) as well as many favored nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and siblings Betty, Charles, Jeanne, Donna, Carol and Sheila; Irma was preceded in death by her husband John “Wes” Jacobs and her son John Wesley Jacobs, Jr.
Irma cherished her family more than anything in the world. Her life was devoted to loving and taking care of others which eventually led her to a career as a nurse which she enjoyed immensely. Aside from treasured time spent with family, she also enjoyed being a homemaker, gardener, her needlework and her many traveling adventures.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on April 17, 2026, at Clore-English Funeral Home, 11190 James Monroe Highway, Culpeper, Virginia 22701.
A Graveside will take place at 1:00 pm on April 17, 2026, at Rose Park Cemetery, 318 Shelby Rd, Wolftown, VA.
