John Dawson Green

John D. “Johnny” Green, 68, of Slate Mills, passed away Monday March 24, 2014 at Fauquier Hospital, Warrenton, VA. Mr. Green was born to Edward William Green and Edith Ellington Green October 23, 1945 in Culpeper County, VA. He was a master mechanic; enjoyed gardening, his family and traveling.

Mr. Green is survived by his wife Violet Green of Slate Mills, VA; his children, Tina Leake and husband Raymond of Madison, VA and Tanya Carpenter and husband Russell of Madison, VA; three granddaughters, Jessica Hoffman and husband Davin, Emily Carpenter and Haley Carpenter; two great-grandchildren, Leah and Ella Hoffman; his brother, Steve Green of Slate Mills, VA and his step-children, Karen Lumb of Fredericksburg, VA and Michael Payne of Ruckersville, VA. He is preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.

A memorial service will be held Friday, March 28, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Clore-English Funeral Home with Rev. Sandy Martin conducting the service. Interment will be private at a later date. The family will receive friends one hour before the service.
