

. John Wesley Jacobs, Jr., 44, of Conowingo, MD and formerly of Culpeper, VA passed away in his sister’s home in Culpeper Thursday, August 28, 2014 surrounded by his family. John was born August 19, 1970 in Culpeper to John Wesley Jacobs, Sr. and Irma Gilmore Jacobs. He served his country in the U.S. Army and was employed as a bomb tech with the Department of Defense. John had a great sense of humor, enjoyed coaching his sons in baseball, riding his Harley and gardening. His love for family went to the moon and back.
He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John W. Jacobs, Sr. of Culpeper; his children, John Wesley Jacobs, III “Jack “ and David Austin Jacobs, both of Perryville, MD; his siblings, Temple J. Leavell and her husband Robbie and Bonnie J. Kenney and her husband Travis all of Culpeper; his nieces and nephews, Christopher Pories, Colby Pories, Kelsi Leavell, Jacob Kenney and Samantha Kenney; a special friend, Angie McCool and the mother of his children, Kristin Lee Jacobs.
Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Clore-English Funeral Home Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. with interment in the Culpeper National Cemetery, Chandler Street with military honors provided by the V.F.W. Post 2524 Honor Guard. Pastor Jeff Light will conduct the service.
The family will receive friends Monday, September 1, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Clore-English Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions should be made to the Hospice of the Rapidan, P.O. Box 1715, Culpeper, VA 22701.
