Born on October 23, 1938, in Chester County, Pennsylvania, Karl was the son of John and Helen Miller. He grew up with a strong sense of family, hard work, and community that guided him throughout his life.
Karl enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1956, where he served for more than 20 years and retired honorably as a Master Sergeant in 1976. His career included overseas tours in Korea and Vietnam, where he proudly served his country during times of conflict.
Following his military service, Karl continued to dedicate himself to his work and community through a second career at Rochester, where he remained until his retirement.
While serving abroad, Karl met the love of his life, Mauricette Antoinette Pasquier, in France. They were married on May 31, 1960 and shared 56 years together until her passing on December 25, 2016. Their marriage became the foundation of a family grounded in love and resilience. Together they raised three sons: Francis, Eric, and Daniel Miller. He is survived by his sister Helen Jane as well as his sisters-in-law Bernadette and Odette. Karl was also a proud grandfather to Jenniffer, Christopher, Colby, and Kayla, and his joy multiplied with the arrival of twelve great-grandchildren, who will carry forward his spirit and memory. He is preceded by his siblings Mary Alice and John.
Outside of his professional life, Karl enjoyed traveling and had a deep passion for music. He especially loved singing and participated in multiple choirs, sharing his voice with those around him.
Karl’s life was marked by service, devotion, and love—service to his country, devotion to his family, and love for the simple joys that enriched his days. He leaves behind a legacy that will be remembered with pride and gratitude by all who knew him.
A memorial service for Karl will be held Friday, September 12, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Clore-English Funeral Home, 11190 James Monroe Highway, Culpeper, Virginia 22701.
