Lillian Valerie Hopton, 99, formerly of Lynchburg, VA, passed away December 11, 2021. Mrs. Hopton was born in Toronto, Canada to John Thomas Pearson and Florence Mary Pearson on January 12th 1922. Lillian married John Douglas Hopton in Wolverhampton, England on June 14th 1947. Their marriage spanned 66 years of love and devotion until John’s death September 22nd 2013. She is survived by her daughters and their husbands, Linda and Brian Duncan, Eileen and Eddie Callaghan, grandchildren, Elizabeth, Heather, Shaun, Richard, and Deborah, eight great-grandchildren and her sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Wesley Hooker. She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband, her brother and sister-in-law Thomas and Margaret Pearson, her sister and brother-in-law Doris and Robert Baker. Lillian was an artist, she loved to garden and travel. She and her husband were active hikers and members of the Natural Bridge Appalachian Trail Club. She was loved, adored, and cherished by her family and many friends.
