
Louise Wiley Willis, 91, passed away on Thursday evening, February 13, 2014 at the University of Virginia Medical Center after a long and happy life. Mrs. Willis was born in Shanghai, China to Elizabeth and J. Hundley Wiley, Baptist missionaries; served her country during World War II in the Army Air Transport Command and was a member of Culpeper Baptist Church. She particularly enjoyed the many years she worked with the two year olds in Sunday School and helped with the family tomato business. She was preceded in death by her husband John Morris Willis and her brothers. Surviving Mrs. Willis are her children, Betty Katt, John Willis and his wife Emily, Jim Willis and his wife, Andika, all of Culpeper, VA, and Louise Phelix, of Ruther Glen, VA, four grandchildren, Jake , Tom, Andrew and Grace and her six great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. at the Culpeper Baptist Church on Thursday, March 6, 2014, until the funeral services begins at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Lanny Horton conducting the service. Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Culpeper Baptist Church building fund, 318 S. West Street, Culpeper, VA, 22701; or to the Alzheimer’s Association. Arrangements have been entrusted to Clore-English Funeral Home.
