Lovella Marie Trice

Born on March 26, 1938 in Tacoma, Virginia, Marie is survived by her husband Emmett Trice, her children Jerry Foalden, Glenda (Randy) Hobbs, Steve (Alissa) Trice, and Joy Haines, ten grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and her sister Jeanette Garrett.

She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, two sisters, her son George William Foalden, and her daughter Angela Faye Foalden.

Among her jobs held, she spent many years working as a window clerk at the United States Postal Service. Those who knew Marie will remember her for her faith, generosity, hospitality, and her fearless, fiery spirit. She had a special way of loving her family and spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In her free time, she loved quilting, crafting, vegetable gardening, and canning. She especially enjoyed baking custom cakes, including wedding cakes, and making a quilt for each milestone in her family’s lives.

Her greatest joy in life was faith and her family. She cherished time spent with family at the beach, and her presence radiated warmth and comfort.

A funeral will be held on March 19, 2026 at 1:00pm at Clore-English Funeral Home in Culpeper, VA. A reception will follow.
