

Mario Lewis Calvano of Culpeper, Virginia, passed away Wednesday, April 29, 2015, at the age of 86. He was born in Vasto, Italy, he moved to White Plains, New York as an infant.After graduating high school, he moved to the Washington, D.C. area with his parents and two younger sisters. He enjoyed working in the retail jewelry business over 50 years, with 45 of those years with Kay Jewelers. He also proudly served his country in the U.S. Army serving in Japan and Korea in the 1950's. After retiring, he and his wife, Marianne Stoy Calvano, moved to Culpeper. Mario was very proud of his affiliation with the Knights of Columbus at Precious Blood Catholic Church in Culpeper and the tireless charitable fundraising he did during his years of volunteering. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marianne, his parents, Anthony and Mary Calvano of Mt. Rainier, Maryland and a sister, Josephine DeMilio of Crofton, Maryland.He is survived by his youngest sister, Gloria Monaghan of Culpeper; his daughter and her husband, Marcia and Tim Randolph of Farmington, Utah; his son, Brian Calvano of San Diego, California; and his step-son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Monika Stoy of Springfield, Virginia. He had six grandchildren, Ben Morris, Will Morris, Mallory Morris, Chloe Morris, Carlo Calvano and Lorenzo Calvano located throughout the country. He also had numerous nieces and nephews originally from the Washington, D.C. area.A viewing will be held on Thursday evening, May 7, 2015, from 4 until 8 p.m. at Clore-English Funeral Home. A Rosary Service will be held at 6 p.m. during viewing. His funeral mass will be held at Precious Blood Catholic Church on Friday, May 8, 2015, at 11 a.m.Donations in his name to Precious Blood Catholic Church would be greatly appreciated.
