Martha Smith Hoffman, 93, of Madison, passed away Thursday, June 23, 2016. She was born February 18, 1923 in Syria, Virginia to Ashby Smith and Ida Corbin Smith. In addition to her parents, Martha was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Hoffman.
Martha is survived by her daughters, Barbara Hoffman and Karen Hixson and husband Pete, all of Brightwood. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Dale Durrer and wife Holly of Culpeper; Martie Perez of San Diego, CA; and Carla Hixson of Orange, CA. Martha also leaves behind seven great-grandchildren who she cherished.
A graveside memorial service will be held Monday, June 27, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Cedar Hill Cemetery, 1594 Main Street, Madison. Memorial donations may be made to the Madison County Rescue Squad, P. O. Box 868, Madison, VA 22727.
