Obituary of Minnie Ernestine Barron
Minnie Ernestine Barron, 86 of Amissville, Virginia went to be with the Lord on December 10, 2023. She was born on December 2, 1937 at Faber, Virginia to the late Robert L. and Ruby Beverly. She was married to Languin M. Barron, Jr. on August 27, 1955 and resided in Catlett from marriage to 2004 when they moved to Amissville, Virginia. Mother of three children, Languin M. Barron, III, Beth Barron Gray, and Christal Barron. She was predeceased by her loving daughter Beth Barron Gray in 1987 and she is also predeceased by her siblings, Alonzia Beverly, Julia Green, Lutie Ritenour, and Clarene Ritenour. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, her two remaining children and her brother Robert L. Beverly, Jr. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Heather Ashley Gray, Edward Marshall Barron, James Robert Barron, Joshua McGuire Manuel, and Hannah “Caroline” Manuel. Also surviving are three great-grandchildren, Beth, Colt, and Nash Barron. Minnie Ernestine was an active parent in her children’s school lives and also a Girl Scout leader. In 1975 to 1985 she worked as a school crossing guard, parking attendant, and dispatcher for the Warrenton Police Department. She was a seamstress and conducted her business from her home from 1985-1998 and was proud to sew for Virginia State Police and other clients. She also volunteered for hospice support in Fauquier County. She was an active member of the New Baltimore Baptist Church and then Oakdale Baptist Church, Nokesville, Virginia where she was involved in the mission program and also the flower committee. In 2004 at the time of their move to Amissville, she and her husband joined Amissville Baptist Church where she was also active with missions, flower and kitchen committees and helped with the costumes for the live nativity. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Amissville Baptist Church. A graveside service will be held in Hillcrest Memory Gardens, Jeffersonton, VA Thursday, December 21, 2023 at 11:00a.m.
