Nancy “Dee” McAllister Sykes went to be with the Lord October 23rd, 2021. She was born July 20, 1946 to Joseph Warren and Elsie Mae McAllister. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband James “Jim” Richard Sykes, and one foster son Garland Stretch.
She leaves behind daughter, Dr. LoriAnn Stretch of Williamsburg, VA; son, Joseph Sykes of Boston, VA; daughter Carolyn Christensen with husband Trevor of Reva, VA; daughter in law, Stephanie Sykes of Reva, VA; and several foster children. Dee and Jim shared their home with 58 foster kids throughout the years. She also leaves behind grandchildren: Erin, Robert, Kayelynn, Seven, Jessica, Kevin, Sierra, and James. Per her wishes, her children will have a private gathering at a later date to bury her ashes next to the ashes of her husband.
