

George was born October 8, 1943 in Lebanon to the late George and Sara Richa. George was their first-born son and the third of their ten children together.
George was an Award Winning, Paris Trained Chef de Cuisine. He came to America to be head chef at the Belgium Embassy in Washington DC. George was very proud to become an American Citizen and eventually brought many family members in under his wing to become first generation Americans as well. He continued his career with the State Department in Washington DC. He moved on to Northern Virginia and created the famously popular “Dinner Buffet” At the Hayloft Dinner Theatre in Manassas, VA. His artistic talent was also showcased with Ice Sculptures, Fruit baskets arrangements, & Swans made of bread. He continued his passion for fine cuisine with his own Restaurant ventures such as Cedars Inn, Chateau Richa, & Old Town Caterers. George loved his loyal customers and always greeted them with a smile, kind words, & unforgettable delicious meals. George also enjoyed hunting and fishing in his spare time. Most importantly George Loved his family.
George is survived by his Loving Daughter Gina Cooper, & Husband Troy. Two Grandchildren. Grandson Austin Cooper, his Fiancée Danielle, their daughter Talliah and Baby Halo on the way. Also, survived by his beloved Granddaughter Mckenzie Cooper.
George’s surviving siblings Juliet Saad, Bahia Slaiby, Hassib Richa & wife Jennifer, Siham Shahda and husband Shahda, Ellie Nichols, Afaf Richa and husband Abdo, Mike Richa and wife Lori, & Marc Richa and wife Sally. In addition to his parents, George is preceded in death by one sister Therese Richa.
A Mass of Christian burial with Father Joseph will be a private Event at Precious Blood Catholic Church. Pallbearers Mike Richa, Marc Richa, Joe Slaiby, George Nichols, Joseph Nichols, & Austin Cooper will Escort George to his final resting place. Funeral home Clore-English will coordinate arrangements & deliveries. The Family also welcome donations to The Dementia Society of America or charity of their choice in remembrance.
